Getting back on subject!
We where going to go to the lake this weekend, but not any more! Thanks to the gas prices!
I don't remember the last time we didn't go to the lake on Memorial Day in the past.
Has anyone else's plans been ruined by the too high gas prices?

My husband has been with the same company for more than 20 years--it's the only job he's ever had as an adult. He'd have a difficult time if he lost his position for any reason. But then he'd have a difficult time deciding to look for something different, as well. I decided to change careers; I got tired of never getting to learn anything new at my job just because I was a secretary. So I learned something new OFF the job and translated it into $10k more per year at a different company. I finished the project I was hired to do at that one, got laid off for a month, and now I"m at a different company and got another raise. I've already learned so much here, I've just about doubled my resume, and I've only been here a little over a month! It's also really hard to think of what I do as work, because I enjoy it so much. That 50-mile commute, though, that's the only thing that makes it less than perfect.
I've heard that Network+ is easier than A+, but then I heard that the operating system test was harder than the hardware test, adn I found them to be about equal. And i really need to buckle down and get ready for that network+ test. I'm behind schedule by a couple of years!

I just returned from 2 weeks in Manhattan and Staten Island (for Fleet Week) and I have to agree. Parking is minimal, the cheapest gas was $3.25 per gallon and the traffic on the streets was atrocious. Public transportation is the way to go in the Big Apple.

Price Gouging
Try thinking of why, when, what, when, why the started.
Refiners are making highest profits of all times and only running at half capacity right now, the oil companies I read from the governments reports say the oil companies regulate the raw oil prices, by holding the barrels refined process back in their stock, no law is set for this.
The car Companies also need to be accountable and prosecuted for these high mileage vehicles as for example; a 1976 lesbre Buick GPM was 22 GPM, and this 2007.
There were laws made back in the gas crisis days that the car manufacturing could not build large vehicle with high consumption, but oil companies, some how must of bought the law, from the money hungry elected individuals.
This was the United States, the last time I looked at the flag in my back yard, we should look at when the effect of gas prices started and why, the alternatives for other means of transportation will not happen unless someone is ready to profit big from it. The war was one of the escape goats that brought this to light;and Walsteet, all anyone has to do is hear someone pass gas (fart)and the price jumps. Everyone that has oil control are in a hurry to hurt the American people, unless they are totally ignorant. This did not happen overnight, it seems i was a good time for crooked politicians working for their foreign money to rape the USA. We need to give the blame were it is deserved, and impeach and prosecute to the fullest of their acts of not serving the people of USA which were elected to serve.
There is more to the story than everyone knows, but who ever is behind this can keep the people pointing at each other and arguing, theses companies can plain their next rape against us for more money.
God bless the American troops and Veterans of the USA

Fuel prices rise because of one thing and that is supply and demand (actually that's two things), a lot of the rises in Europe in the past 18 months have occured because of the problems in Nigeria with millitants attacking fuel installations. Leading to a reduction in the amount of oil produced but the demand stays constant leading to shortfalls. This makes oil an expensive commodity which I'm afraid as in all business is passed on to the consumer.
Peak oil was reached in 2005(some people say 1979), I'm afraid it's a downward spiral from here especially as consumption increases, the running out completely scenario is not the thing to worry about, it's the diminishing reserves that is the worry as the population of the world increases so does it's demand for fuel leading to oil producing nations crumbling, prices skyrocketing and oil wars (be prepared for the US military becoming the worlds oil protection force fighting to protect precious oil reserves) starting. Don't forget that America and Britain and other Industrialised nations can be brought to their knees by a drop in oil production of only 10%
I'm afraid as long as nations such as India and China expand as industrial players and unrest continues in the oil producing regions things will only get worse, perhaps it's time that we pulled our heads from out of the sand and came up with viable methods to power our countries.

Another great reason also, good friend, as you and your side of the world has experienced the pain before us.
We have another pain, his name is Gordon Brown who loves to take his cut on our fuel prices. I think something like 75% of the price of a litre of petrol/diesel goes to the government.
